Rob advises on Strategy, Operations and Veterans Affairs
Mr. Soeldner is an executive with over 20 years’ experience managing corporate sales organizations with revenue up to $150 million. He has directed 150 employees and was also responsible for asset development, profitability, and budget. He developed both short- and long-term business plans and participated in corporate restructuring and subsequent performance and bonus design and payout. Mr. Soeldner initiated a Sales Outreach program to increase production volume which resulted in a 2.5% increase in volume over a four-year period. A decorated US Army officer, Mr. Soeldner provided leadership and motivation for 750 technical soldiers of a contingency division cavalry squadron. After retiring he served as Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army.
As Deal Manager of a commercial and residential real estate brokerage, Rob manages logistics and monitors individual broker and LLC financials. As Chief Operations Officer (COO) at a major supply & trade firm in Switzerland, Mr. Soeldner led the principal investments business segment; managed multiple cost centers and CEO budgets.
Following retirement from the US Army, Mr. Soeldner was Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army from the state of Massachusetts. He developed and implemented a state-wide strategy for coordinating National Guard, reserve and active component training resources and recruiting; worked with the Governor, National Guard Adjutant General, federal and state elected officials and state and local business leaders.
While Vice President (VP) of Operations at RR Donnelley, Mr. Soeldner increased profitability of a $50M business unit; managed 140 personnel and directed the print sales force and production. He reduced error dollars by 12% by developing metrics to minimize production costs, enhance safety, and improve production quality and efficiency methods.
As Senior Vice President, Operations, Engineering, Construction at DKRW Energy, Mr. Soeldner managed the profit and loss performance of over a $2.5 billion in assets which included coal to liquids, coal mines and product pipelines. He also testified at public hearings.
As Executive VP, Operations at Trans Alta Corporation Calgary, Canada, Mr. Soeldner managed 2.3 Billion (CDN) revenue in coal-fired plants business across four countries and two provinces; managed a 500M (CDN) budget. He reduced capital costs, increased EBIT and improved safety.
Mr. Soeldner achieved success as Vice President, Strategic Initiatives at a New York Independent Systems Operator. Using FERC RTO 2000 Order, he reconfigured transmission planning to position New York as the FERC standard for planning while incorporating emerging market independent transmission companies, regional transmission and Canadian system operators, and vertically integrated utilities.
Robert earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) in International Relations and International Economics The Johns Hopkins University, Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in National Security from the US Military Academy; West Point, NY.
